Dear Passengers!

In accordance with police instructions, the Jaffa Center station will be closed to passenger traffic on Saturday night, March 15, 2025 (15th of Adar 5785).

We recommend staying updated via our WhatsApp channel, "Kfir on the Move," as well as on social media and our Telegram channel.

Changes in Light Rail Service on Sunday, March 16, 2025

Dear passengers,

Due to the Adloyada celebrations in downtown Jerusalem on Sunday, March 16, 2025, the light rail will operate in a split service between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM (approximately), according to police instructions.

The light rail will run between Neve Yaakov (North) and Damascus Gate and between the Central Station and Hadassah Ein Kerem in both directions.

There will be no train service between Damascus Gate and the Central Station.

During these hours, for your convenience, the Extra company will operate regular bus lines between Ammunition Hill and the Central Station, both ways.

Once police approval is granted, the light rail will resume full service from Neve Yaakov (North) to Hadassah Ein Kerem in both directions.

Once police approval is received, the train will return to its regular schedule.

Wishing you a happy and safe Purim,
The Cfir Team

The Red Line is Expanding!

Starting this evening, Thursday, February 27, 2025, passengers can travel on the light rail all the way to Hadassah Ein Kerem, following the completion of the Red Line extension from the northern part of the city – Neve Yaakov and Pisgat Ze'ev – to the south.

The extension was completed after successfully passing all certification and safety tests and obtaining the necessary approvals to operate 12 new stations.

We acknowledge that the past few weeks have presented challenges, but these difficulties were expected – launching any new and advanced transportation system requires a period of adjustment before reaching full commercial operation and optimal stability. We remain committed to continuously improving your travel experience.

This is a significant step in improving public transportation in the city, increasing accessibility, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing travel efficiency in the capital.

Thank you to everyone involved – the improvement is already here, and relief is on the way!

Updating public transportation rates in accordance with the price control order

2/25/2025 10:16 AM

Dear Passengers,

In accordance with the Price Control Order and the directives of the Ministry of Transport, fare updates for the light rail will take effect starting February 25, 2025 (27 Shevat 5785).

The single ride fare on the light rail will be 8 ILS across all payment methods (Rav-Kav or mobile apps). This ticket allows free transfers between the light rail and buses for 90 minutes within a 15 km range.

When transferring from a bus to the light rail within 15 km and within 90 minutes, passengers paying with a stored value plan (Rav-Kav) or a mobile payment app will be charged a fare difference, which, as of this announcement, is 2 ILS.

The fare update applies only to single rides and does not affect monthly or daily unlimited travel passes.

For the benefit of passengers, new validation devices have been added at the train stations and the validation devices inside the carriage have been upgraded.

Please note, these devices can validate up to 9 passengers with the Rav Kav card!

Important Annaouncement

1/8/2025 10:25 AM
Dear passengers!
In the coming weeks we will carry out a comprehensive upgrade of the existing trains.
This upgrade is necessary and will allow the carriages to be adapted to the most advanced and state-of-the-art technology systems, which will improve the travel experience when the Red Line extensions are opened.
In light of this, over the next few weeks the frequency of trains will decrease from 5.5/6 minutes to 6.5/7 minutes during peak hours.
We apologize for the temporary inconvenience, and remind you that the improvement in the long term will be significant!

Hadassah - Neve Yaakov, already much closer!

Payment in applications during GPS disruptions

Dear passengers,
Please note that the Ministry of Transport and the app operators are currently coming up with a solution to the problem of validation during GPS disruptions.
Please note that all passengers who use the mobile applications for the purpose of validating the trip on the light rail in Jerusalem are required to update the application and validate the trip at the station before entering the train. In case of GPS interference, the application will detect that there is an interference and will ask the passenger to manually select a ride on the light rail and the relevant station.
Have a nice trip!
